Employee Spotlight: Russell Isaacson, Vice President of the Embedded Insurance Channel

Welcome to the Boost Employee Spotlight! Each month, we feature a different member of the Boost team and their story. This month, meet Russell Isaacson, Vice President of the Embedded Insurance Channel.

What does your role do? What does your typical week look like?

I am the Vice President of the Embedded Insurance Channel at Boost, which consists of high-level business development and client relations. I focus on building out our embedded partner distribution channel by nurturing partnerships with companies for whom insurance is a logical extension of what they already offer. For example, pet product retailers could generate significant incremental revenue by offering pet insurance to their customers, so I help those retailers realize their potential.

Progress in business development requires creative communications balanced with a calculated, data-driven approach. We have analysts on our team who research potential, suitable pet retail companies, then my role is to reach out to those prospects, build a meaningful relationship with them, and guide them along the process toward a distribution partnership. That being said, my typical week consists of planning and executing meetings and communications with—or regarding—prospective embedded partnerships.

What are some of the highlights of your time at Boost?

Being relatively new to Boost (and insurance!), my highlights reflect the interview and onboarding process. I interviewed and was hired in February, and everyone has been helpful, insightful, and inclusive since then, ensuring that I get up to speed quickly so I can make an immediate positive impact. Specifically, colleagues have included me on calls with clients, partners, and prospects to get practical exposure to how we operate and add value.

What’s one thing you’re excited to work on/ hope to accomplish at Boost?

I'm excited to bring Boost's innovative solutions to market to benefit consumers in terms of closing the protection gap. By broadening access to insurance through cutting-edge technology, we help people get the coverage they need in a way that's easy for them to obtain and manage. Moreover, we help partners grow their businesses in the process, thereby adding value to all stakeholders. Facilitating win-win-win scenarios really motivates me, and I'm excited to do this at Boost.

What are you most excited about for the next year?

In the next year, I'm most excited about the growth we'll experience at Boost. There is nothing quite like being part of a high-growth organization, especially when that growth is based on disruptive innovation. Of course, there are financial rewards, but I'm more excited about contributing to that growth and experiencing the feelings of accomplishment, connectedness, and engagement with the team that those contributions inevitably produce.

If you enjoyed reading about Russell’s experience and are interested in working at Boost, let us know! We are hiring and would love to hear from you.
