Welcome to the Boost Employee Spotlight! Each month, we feature a different member of the Boost team and their story. This month, meet Steven Ochoa, Boost’s Office Manager and Executive Assistant to the CEO.
What is your role at Boost? What does your typical week look like?
I have two roles at Boost: Office Manager and Executive Assistant to our CEO, Alex Maffeo. As Alex’s EA, my typical work week consists of managing his calendar and assisting him with any assignments that come up.
In my role as Office Manager, I work to make the office as functional, updated, well-stocked, and aesthetically pleasing as possible. I manage all of the office orders, handle office maintenance, and supply the staff with everything they might need from extra chargers to snacks, notebooks, or electronics. And, last but not least, I help to plan social events and experiences to enhance the company's culture—which I consider to be the most important part of my role.
What is your favorite thing about your role?
My favorite things about working at Boost are the people that work here and the in-person, day-to-day connections I get to have with them. I like how laid-back and personable everyone is with one another—it makes for great office culture.
The most rewarding aspect of my job is knowing that my little contributions around the office make the overall machine run smoothly. If I can accomplish that by stocking someone's favorite snack in the office or supplying someone with an extra keyboard or mouse, then I consider that a success.
What are some of the highlights of your time at Boost?
A major highlight is the quick growth that we are experiencing. It is exciting to bring in new staff, work on new projects, experience success, and see the company thrive. Boost is the kind of company that works for the wins and knows how to celebrate them, so it is exciting when we can see the results of our cumulative hard work.
What’s one thing you’re excited to work on / hope to accomplish at Boost?
I am always seeking to create an efficient workspace but also an aesthetically pleasing one where people can do their jobs well and enjoy the place where they work. Right now we are working on the new vinyl design throughout the office, which I am really excited about.
